Intricacies of Life

A thought on this matter makes me realise that, to me, my life seems no better than that of a trivial micro-organism striving to survive in the fauna. The tiny being concealed in the nodes of gravely entangled submerged roots of a vast tree. The venerably aged tree providing abode to infinitesimal beings. Its umpteen branches slightly bending to kiss the surface of water with every gentle breeze. The changing season bringing in many new forms of life, fresh leaves and flowers filling the nude branches and the rain blessing all with a refreshing ambiance.

The Darwin Theory gets reinforced every passing moment too, only the fittest survives, be it life in green waters or a muddy patch. Every dweller is in a rush to grab the biggest portion of the available resource, sunlight, land, power and nutrients to not just fill their stomachs but their food reserves and their pockets as well. It stands true for every inhabitant of the pond, from puny organisms to the big fish who rule with the colossal power and feed on the smaller creatures to rise up the ladder. The fact remains true that every ripple in the pond brings along a stone that hits the smallest the hardest.

Sometimes, I wonder what if I move out of the stagnant waters into the gigantic ocean with green waters, vast areas and more food to feed on. What will living in heaven be like? Another thought makes me realize that besides providing the freedom to move around, a slightest current of the ocean holds immense strength to sweep me off my feet and strand me tumbling somewhere in the deep and dark turbulent waters on a stormy night where I know no one and where no one knows me. The vast variety and species of animals around with everyone looking for an opportunity. The threat of sharks and big fish attacking me and fear of my collision with rocks in search of an abode ...the idea of such a drastic change runs a chill down my spine.

Wildfire

Placing the glass down gently, he looked fiercely into her eyes, His smile fading into a thin line, his gaze pierced her sighs Savoring a sip of dark wine, she struggled to keep her nerves, Slouching deeper into her fantasy, she spilled the drink past her curves Inching closer swiftly, he blazed with passion and anxious desire, Embracing the unknown, she let his love engulf her like wildfire

Misty eyes

Feeling so trivial, sitting beneath the stars, Staring at vast infinity, abandoning the pain in her heart Dreaming of a magical place, grinning with misty eyes, Cherishing the silvery moon, winking back at the fireflies Wearing a robe of hope, bearing the cold test of time, Deafening stark silence, freezing the voices in her mind Crawling away from the shadows, drawing up a firm line, Praying for more strength, hoping for a life divine
