Winter Wedding - Food, Fashion and Chill

So, unpacking bags from last trip took 3 weeks, a week over what I had planned for. But who's complaining? As that wrapped, it was time to zip-up for the next trip. This time, it was my cousin's wedding up in North India! Akarshan and Megha, both settled in city beautiful- Chandigarh, planned a pleasant winter wedding in their home state Haryana. Akarshan is working as Supervising Manager with an automobile firm, and Megha is a Marketing/Advertisements professional. Everyone was ecstatic as the bride and groom have chosen ideal life partners and make a beautiful looking couple. Akarshan, my second cousin, is very close to my family and there was no way I was going to skip being a part of his special day. My journey to Haryana kicked-off with a 4.5 hrs one-stop flight to Chandigarh, followed by a road trip to Kaithal for Sangeet ceremony and onwards to Yamuna Nagar for the wedding function next day. Best part of visiting North India in November are the lip-smackin...

Leaving on a Jet Plane

One more long journey comes to a beautiful end. 2 countries, 3 weeks, 4 cities, and numerous train/airplane/cab journeys later, I'm heading back home. All smiles and tears, with several stories to tell and incidents to narrate, I'm worried if my passport has enough blank pages left for my next trip already! Life, back home, will be as usual. Just checked again for the 314159 th   time that I have home keys safe with me. Thank God, I'll not have to worry about finding a free Wi-Fi spot anymore. My home broadband will need a kick or a kick-start, hope something works. Rest, life will be back on track within a day.  This time, I'm resolving to unpack my bags soon, like within next 2 weeks. Reasonable, right? Usually, first thing to leave my bag is my Footwear. Rest of the objects follow a random order of necessity and memory. Necessity is usually the likes of workout clothes, socks, etc. when I run out of my home stash; and memory leads me to packets of chocolat...

Two days

I'm an old-soul Piscean; I love with an open heart and live in dream castles. My super powers are strong intuition and keen observation. With these, there is hardly anything that goes unnoticed around me. So much to process! Phew! Today is yet another day when my mind is full of numerous incoherent thoughts and I turn to my white board. Where to begin? It's been a long while since I penned my thoughts on this board. I didn't go anywhere; I've been here, right around the corner watching life rush by. Well, I feel I tend to address my creative urges better when I'm feeling emotional. But these beautiful fragile emotions went through a roller coaster ride this past year. Life experienced a rainbow - from being crestfallen to effervescent, and deep shades of everything in between. I've grown so much emotionally, mentally and spiritually in last dozen months than ever in my life's journey before. I'm much, much more strong-willed today. I still look back a...

Misty eyes

Feeling so trivial, sitting beneath the stars, Staring at vast infinity, abandoning the pain in her heart Dreaming of a magical place, grinning with misty eyes, Cherishing the silvery moon, winking back at the fireflies Wearing a robe of hope, bearing the cold test of time, Deafening stark silence, freezing the voices in her mind Crawling away from the shadows, drawing up a firm line, Praying for more strength, hoping for a life divine

Wildfire

Placing the glass down gently, he looked fiercely into her eyes, His smile fading into a thin line, his gaze pierced her sighs Savoring a sip of dark wine, she struggled to keep her nerves, Slouching deeper into her fantasy, she spilled the drink past her curves Inching closer swiftly, he blazed with passion and anxious desire, Embracing the unknown, she let his love engulf her like wildfire

Well Done!

Reflecting on how much (err.. less) we appreciate people around us - Think about a situation, from the past 10 days, when you honestly appreciated some one. Not because there was a vested interest in them (read: buttering your boss), but because you genuinely felt good, remembered it, ensured letting them know and made it special for them. Got some ideas? Let's think of a few scenarios - I - Have you attended a training or a presentation lately?  What did you do once the session was over?  Few people, usually, sneak out for a cup of coffee and complimentary treats moments before the session ends. It gives them just enough time to pick few extra treats before every one steps out, triumphantly taking the goodies back to their work desk for later delight. Been on the other side? If you've facilitated a session and presented to an audience of any scale, you would definitely relate to this: All the smooth talkers, charismatic presenters, seasoned trainers and ou...

Intricacies of Life

A thought on this matter makes me realise that, to me, my life seems no better than that of a trivial micro-organism striving to survive in the fauna. The tiny being concealed in the nodes of gravely entangled submerged roots of a vast tree. The venerably aged tree providing abode to infinitesimal beings. Its umpteen branches slightly bending to kiss the surface of water with every gentle breeze. The changing season bringing in many new forms of life, fresh leaves and flowers filling the nude branches and the rain blessing all with a refreshing ambiance. The Darwin Theory gets reinforced every passing moment too, only the fittest survives, be it life in green waters or a muddy patch. Every dweller is in a rush to grab the biggest portion of the available resource, sunlight, land, power and nutrients to not just fill their stomachs but their food reserves and their pockets as well. It stands true for every inhabitant of the pond, from puny organisms to the big fish who rule with th...
